Dayuri; Mural Art, Culture, and Territory

Dayuri is an artistic mural route that offers the opportunity to explore the Asturian territory through Mural Art, discovering its villages, its people, and the stories behind them.

Main Axes

Dayuri is an artistic mural route that provides the opportunity to travel through the Asturian territory to discover, through Mural Art, its villages, its people, and the stories behind them.

Each mural arises from a process of artistic mediation, connecting each piece with the social and cultural reality of the environment, involving and empowering the local population in the creation process of the artwork.

The themes of the murals revolve around concepts linked to the life, landscape, customs, and culture of the rural Asturian world. Valuing the cultural and landscape heritage that characterizes the region. Giving rise to a mural art gallery with not only great artistic value but also historical, sociological, and ethnographic significance.

Artistic Mediation

At Dayuri, we advocate for artistic creation that places its inhabitants and their context, identity, and culture at the center.

To facilitate these processes, we use Cultural and Artistic Mediation as a methodology, transforming artistic disciplines into communication tools in community processes.

In Conscious Muralism projects, it is always important to highlight the value of the process, the collective work of inquiry and specific intervention in a territory, the active value of communities, and, above all, the rejection of an artist’s role as an isolated agent.

Everything is interconnected; the artist becomes an agent of change, and synergies are created between the artist and the community fabric. Anecdotes, people, stories… are the intangible material behind each mural.
