Global Work

Currently, urban spaces undergo a continuous state of mutation due to this eagerness for the improvement of public infrastructure, which is both excessive and poorly planned beforehand. The goal is citizen satisfaction and a positive assessment of the authorities. In practice, this results in a continuous and global state of construction, deconstruction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and restoration, which has the opposite effect to the initial goal of the authorities: discomfort, misunderstanding, uprooting, loss of historical memory, and identity.

Main Axes

Despite the initial intention to improve the quality of life and the positive perception of citizens towards the authorities, the resulting reality seems to deviate from these objectives. The perpetual state of construction in cities can generate a series of negative consequences that affect both the daily experience of citizens and the identity and character of the city itself.
